Beach Clean-up 2017
In total well over 40 people took part in
the Marine Parade beach clean-up on 3 March, initiated by the
Environment, Justice and Peace Network based at the Anglican
Cathedral. The activity was timed to happen during the annual national
The group included a group of students
from Sacred Heart; CPoN youth group members; Care of Creation group
members; St Mary’s parishioners, Anglican St John’s parishioners,
other members of the EJP Network, plus a few people who had read the
notice in the local papers (including 3 German tourists).
The group covered from Napier Port down
to the new pier near the Sound Shell. For various reasons the amount
of rubbish collected was less than last year.
It was balmy weather and it finished with
