Parish Administration and Mission Centre
We are slowly getting organized in our new Parish
Administration and Mission Centre. Each day we are
managing to find the things that were packed away in
boxes for the shift from Greenmeadows.
It has been amazing how many people visit the Church now
the front gate on Dickens Street is open to the public.
Many people from cruise ships and other visitors to
Napier have been coming to make a visit to the Blessed
Sacrament Chapel or to attend the 12.05pm Mass. We

Tomorrow we celebrate Waitangi Day. In
the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840, a
partnership was established, a relationship forged. All
people of Aotearoa New Zealand, are parties to this
partnership. We pray for a greater understanding, for
respect and tolerance among all peoples and for wise
governance of our nation.
On Saturday (tomorrow if you receive the
newsletter by email) there will be a Requiem Mass at
11am at St Patrick’s Church for the repose of the soul
of Shaun McCarthy. Shaun died in Tauranga earlier this
week. He and his wife Carlene were parishioners many
years ago at St Thomas More and later at St Patrick’s
parishes. May he rest in peace.
RIP Michael Stanton
One of our very faithful parishioners
Michael Stanton passed away on Thursday. Michael
attended the 10am at St Patrick’s Church each Sunday. He
will be remembered and prayed for this Thursday at the
12.05pm Mass. May he rest in peace.
